Mahalabia (Milk Pudding)

Silky, lightly sweet pudding scented with orange blossom or rosewater.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp orange blossom water or rosewater
  • Chopped pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, whisk milk, cornflour, and sugar until smooth.
  • Place over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened (about 8–10 min).
  • Remove from heat, stir in orange blossom or rosewater.
  • Pour into small bowls, let cool slightly, then refrigerate until set.
  • Sprinkle with pistachios before serving.
